History The Lewiston Public Library was originally housed in a small room in the Albert Township Hall. In February of 2003 the library was advised that it would have to move because the township needed the space to conduct it's business. The thought of our community not having a library rallied a group of concerned citizens who became the Friends of Lewiston Library (FOLL). They immediately went to work to find a replacement building. In June of 2004, a dedication was held to celebrate the donation of a building and recognize the community members who had helped to start the conversion of the former carpet store into our new library. Our spacious new library floor plan of 5300 sq. feet, includes an adult section, computer room, juvenile section, audio/visual room, community meeting room and the FOLL office/gift shop. The generous contributions of our community members have allowed FOLL to successfully renovate most of the building into usable space. The last of the building renovations will be completed as funds become available. |
