Poetry Judge
2008
Moira Maus is the
director of a rural library in northern Michigan and in her spare
time she tries to figure out interesting new ways to kill
people...on paper. Writing under the pen name, M.G. Kincaid, Maus is the
author of two detective novels: Last Victim in Glenn Ross and Last Seen in
Aberdeen. These stories are set in northern Scotland and feature Detective
Sergeant Seth Mornay. Maus' latest novel, Immaculate Deception, is
set in Detroit and features private detective Immaculate Conception
'Mac' McKinnon.
Art Judge 2008
Nason Heron will
once again judge our art for the 2008 Voices and Visions contest.
Nason is a retired art teacher and currently teaches part time at Alpena
Community College. Welcome back Nason.
Special Art
Category Judges
YOU, yes you get to
judge the special art category Why Did The Chicken Cross the Road.
Judging will take place at the reception.
March 13th ,2008 at 6:30pm
at the Atlanta Eagles the public is invited
to attend.
Poetry Submission Guidelines
1. Poetry must be typed or printed legibly
2. Poems must be no longer than 30 lines
3. Limit of one Poem per person to be submitted for entry
4. Poems may be turned into any one of the 3 branches of the
Montmorency County Library during the following dates: Now - February
22nd ,
during library hours.
Art Submission Guidelines
Voices and Visions regrets that we will not be accepting any 3
dimensional or photography entries
1. Size : no larger than 18 x 24
2.
Students, if your work cannot be wired to hang then please mount on a black background (i.e.: mat board, poster
board)
3. Adult work must be wired and ready to hang
4.
Artwork may be
turned into any one of the 3 branches of the
Montmorency County Library during the following dates: Now - February
22nd ,

during library hours.
Special Art Topic
Guidelines
1. The artist
should create a 2 dimensional work of art that answers the question, “Why
did the chicken cross the road?”
2. Actual artwork
should be on an 8 x 11 size sheet of paper and then matted on poster
board.
3. Any medium may
be used. A comment or caption may be include within the artwork but is
optional.
4.

2008 Entry Form
Cash prizes will be offered as awards in both the
poetry and art categories. A chapbook of poetry, featuring the
winning entries, will also be available for purchase.
